Originally developed by Josef Chromy, Tamar Ridge Vineyards is now owned by Gunns, and the company has invested heavily in vineyards, winery and research. A wide range of varieties is grown, including riesling, pinot noir, chardonnay, gewurztraminer, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, and sauvignon blanc.

Recent release and older vintage wines can be tried in the tasting room at the vineyard, where the picturesque splendour of the vines can be appreciated from the deck. The company has recently purchased Coombend and Rosevears Estate vineyards to add to its stock of quality fruit.
